We are currently looking for a Traffic Coordinator to join our Operations team in Delta, BC. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth flow of products in and out of our facility. Working closely with operations, customer service, logistics, and product management teams, you will help deliver an exceptional customer experience through efficient transportation coordination, inventory accuracy, and proactive problem solving.
Whatwould be your main responsibilities as a Traffic Coordinator?
- Effectively communicate with operations, customer service, logistics and product coordinators to successfully manage the inbound and outbound shipments within the branch
- Maintain accurate receiving schedule by managing carrier appointment times, following up on delays with carriers and balancing the operational daily workload while maintaining cost control and meeting customer requirements
- Responsible for receiving shipments into the ERP system. Receiving includes but is not limited to all quality checks (COA, lot number, product and quantity verifications as examples), ensuring accurate landed costs are listed and received in.
- Investigating discrepancies with the assistance of the operations team, product coordinator and logistics coordinator.
- Use Salesforce to document the discrepancies, such as damage, difference in quantities and carrier/shipment issues.
- Responsible for creating, tracking and managing inter-branch transfers
- Confirm outbound orders from the branch accurately using the ERP system. Confirmation that the order has appropriate carrier, quantities and costing will be important
- Responsible for outbound tracking upon request and submission of proof of delivery
- Point of contact for third party blending and tolling operations
- Apply Lean principles to consolidated outbound freight
- Obtain quotes for select shipments and schedule pickups with carriers
- Manage CHEP account
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a fast-paced logistics, transportation, or supply chain environment.
- Knowledge of transportation operations, carrier management, customs documentation, bills of lading, commercial invoices, and cross-border shipping requirements.
- Experience coordinating inbound and outbound shipments and working directly with transportation carriers.
- Strong attention to detail, solid mathematical aptitude, and understanding of Incoterms.
- Experience using ERP systems for inventory transactions, receiving, order confirmations, and shipment tracking.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across Operations, Customer Service, Logistics, and Product Management teams.
- TDG certification would be considered an asset.
