Reports to: Station Manager/Supervisor or Service Manager/ Workshop Manager

Position Summary

The Shop Helper, working under the guidance of an RV Technician, is responsible for inspecting Cana Dream Guest and Sales units to ensure they comply with safety regulations and are free from noticeable defects. This role is physically demanding, involving repetitive tasks and prolonged periods of standing.

Essential duties and responsibilities
  • Maintain the exterior of Cana Dream’s Guest and Customer sales units, including testing, checking, and replacing broken, worn, and unusable parts.
  • Maintain automotive components, fluid levels, tires, liquid gas propane (LPG), electrical systems, and the interior and plumbing of Cana Dream’s Guest and Sales units.
  • Maintain electronic service records of work done and parts used.
  • Identify and notify RV Technicians, Station Manager/Supervisor, or the Service Manager of areas of concern.
  • Maintain a safety‑conscious attitude, prioritizing safety in all tasks and responsibilities. This includes following all safety protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and being vigilant about potential hazards.
  • Perform in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Accurately complete work orders.
  • Winterize and de‑winterize units.
  • Load campers onto trucks and remove campers from trucks when required.
  • Work cohesively with other crew members to deliver WOW experiences for guests, customers, and owners.
  • Embrace Cana Dream’s core values and perform other duties as required.
Skill set, education and experience
  • Propane refueling license is an asset.
  • First aid certification is an asset.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Aptitude for mechanics and/or automotive; previous PDI experience is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and ability to work outside of scheduled hours or on short notice, as operational needs require.
  • Ability and willingness to learn.
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self‑directed, motivated, proactive and fiercely accountable.
  • Familiarity with computers to enter RV data in various software programs as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to speak, read and write English (knowledge of French will be an asset for our Montreal location).
  • Positive interpersonal skills, attitude and energy.
  • Highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Adaptable and able to multitask.
  • Consistently demonstrates a can‑do and happy‑to mentality.
Working Conditions
  • Seasonal.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Shift work, including weekends and statutory holidays; early morning starts are included.
  • Work is physically demanding and requires repetitive tasks, such as bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Safety equipment will be required, e.g., steel‑toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
  • Occasionally required to work outside during inclement weather.
