Job Description
PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the smooth, safe and efficient operation of the assigned machine through the utilization and implementation of the standard operating procedures.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Use of chemicals and equipment requiring strict adherence to MSDS sheetsResponsible for using safety equipment appropriate to work siteResponsible for following GMPs and specially to avoid raw/dirty contact with finished productAbility to run machinery in a safe manner, using proper lock-out proceduresWork around chemicals in a manner compliant with Work Safe BC regulationsWork in a safe manner, being aware of things around youFollow established sanitation procedures for each areaStrive to comply with the vision statement of Hain CelestialCommunicate any concerns or deviations to supervisor in a timely mannerResponsible for reporting food safety problems to supervisorWork in a professional mannerAll employees are responsible for food and safety qualityAll employees are responsible to report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.Perform other duties as instructed by supervisorQualifications
COMPETENCIES:
Ability to operate the mixing equipment safelyStrong mathematical and problem-solving skillsAbility to make judgment decisions based on activities in other departmentsKnowledge to perform continuous quality checks of product, looking for deviationsHave the required HACCP knowledge for assigned stationAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal contactsProduct knowledgeEnsure quality specifications are being met and proper documentation being filled out accuratelyAbility to use a pallet jackAbility to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing and verbal)Good hand / eye coordinationAbility to work with minimal supervisionAble to adapt and work in a continuously changing environmentAbility to work efficiently and in an organized mannerAbility to focus on the task at handAbility to work on weekends as requiredReliableEDUCATION AND/OR
