Job Overview

As a Production Assistant at Raute Canada’s manufacturing facility, you will be an essential part of our production team, helping ensure smooth and efficient operations on the shop floor. You will support the Production department by managing key tasks in D365, including timesheet entry, consuming items on production orders, closing operations, and confirming shop floor scanning. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with production processes while contributing to a high-performing team that values precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

In this role you will

  • Oversee production order documentation and ensure seamless handoff to the shop floor.

  • Validate employee scans and accurately enter timesheets into D365.

  • Monitor production order progress to confirm materials are issued correctly and tasks are completed on schedule.

  • Identify opportunities to improve production order management and streamline shop floor operations.

  • Support and promote best practices in manufacturing through process improvement initiatives.

  • Assist with project production scheduling and reporting to maintain operational efficiency.

  • Provide clear and detailed work status updates, both verbally and in writing, to the manufacturing team.

  • Continuously enhance technical knowledge by participating in workshops and staying updated with industry publications.

  • Genuine interest in learning and growing within a manufacturing environment.

  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.

  • Comfortable adapting to a fast-paced environment and effectively managing priorities.

  • Proficient in Excel.

  • Experience working with travelers, production orders, and ERP systems.

  • Ability to read drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) is considered an asset.

  • Attributes

  • Positive, proactive, and collaborative team player.

  • Able to safely lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

  • Capable of standing for extended periods, including the full duration of a shift.

  • Skilled at writing clear, accurate emails and editing reports.

  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is an asset.

  • Must possess a valid passport and driver’s license.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • This role requires on-site presence five days per week.
