The Processing and Extraction Supervisor will oversee all aspects of post‑harvest processing and cannabis extraction operations, ensuring production efficiency, product quality, regulatory compliance, and effective resource planning. This role involves leading a team of technicians and operators, coordinating daily production schedules, and maintaining GMP and SOP compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and lead a team of post‑harvest technicians and extraction operators, ensuring accountability, productivity, and adherence to quality standards.
- Plan, organize, and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to achieve output and efficiency targets.
- Oversee post‑harvest activities including trimming, drying, curing, milling, and bulk packaging of biomass.
- Manage cannabis extraction processes, ensuring strict compliance with SOPs, GMP, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and maintain equipment, coordinate preventative maintenance, and ensure operational readiness.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Troubleshoot technical and operational issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Promote and enforce workplace safety policies, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment.
- Train, mentor, and develop team members to strengthen technical skills, build leadership capacity, and drive engagement.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Cultivation, Packaging, and R&D to support company objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager/Production Manager.
- 1–2 years of supervisory experience in a production, extraction, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of cannabis post‑harvest processes (trimming, curing, drying, packaging) and extraction methods.
- Familiarity with GMP, Health Canada regulations, and quality control practices.
- Proven ability to plan, schedule, and manage production activities effectively.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and adapt to changing production needs.
- Asset:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/inventory management systems (e.g., D365), knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/5S principles, experience with cannabis or regulated industries, and proficiency in Spanish as an additional asset.
- $60–65K base salary with performance‑based bonus opportunities
