Position Overview

Brockmann’s Chocolate is seeking an experienced and hands‑on Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team at our Delta, BC facility. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our production equipment and facility. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with technical expertise in food manufacturing equipment and a passion for supporting a fast‑paced production environment.

Company Background

At Brockmann’s Chocolate, making exceptional chocolate isn’t just our business – it’s our family’s tradition. Our story began in 1934 when master confectioner Willibald "Willy" Brockmann opened a small confectionery in Munich, Germany. Brockmann’s has grown from a small tearoom in Vancouver to a trusted chocolate brand whose Truffini and Crunchetti products are enjoyed across North America. We remain committed to the same values Willy instilled nearly a century ago: craftsmanship, creativity, and uncompromising quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain chocolate production equipment such as melters, tempering machines, enrobers, conveyors, cooling tunnels, and packaging systems.
  • Analyze equipment history and performance data to define maintenance frequencies and tasks.
  • Create, prioritize, assign, and track work orders using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or similar platform.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Analyze recurring equipment issues to identify and implement long‑term solutions.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and cross‑functional improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure maintenance activities meet industry standards, food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, FSMA), and internal QA policies.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, vendors, and service contractors.
  • Oversee building and utility systems including HVAC, electrical, water, refrigeration, and compressed air.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement of new equipment and processes.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience in food or beverage manufacturing (chocolate or confectionery experience is an asset).
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with food‑grade production systems including refrigeration, pumps, and water‑jacketed equipment.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Flexibility to respond to plant needs in a dynamic, multi‑shift environment.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
  • Supportive work environment focused on teamwork, collaboration, safety, and quality.
  • The chance to help shape the future of a growing chocolate company.
  • Plenty of chocolate to take home and sample.
