Animal Shelter Attendant

Become an integral part of the Delta Community Animal Shelter as an Animal Shelter Attendant. This auxiliary role requires passionate individuals skilled in customer service and animal care.

The City of Delta seeks dedicated people to serve on its Animal Shelter team. This auxiliary/casual position involves ensuring animal welfare through feeding, cleaning, and care. Candidates must have the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, while managing various animal temperaments and building community relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Feed, handle, and care for various animals

• Clean kennels and cages to maintain hygiene

• Perform routine facility cleaning and maintenance tasks

• Execute clerical tasks as needed

• Administer routine medical treatments when required

Requirements:

• Preferred experience working with animals

• Courses in veterinary assistance and animal behavior appreciated

• Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence

• Strong interpersonal skills with the public and volunteers

• Typing and computer proficiency assessment required
