Innovation and Sustainability Co‑operative Student

1‑year co‑op placement starting September 2026 and ending August 2027.

Responsible for exploring new solutions to improve construction efforts and efficiencies, developing solutions to transition to a low‑carbon economy, investigating risks associated with climate change, and ensuring community well‑being. Will work in a small team under the director’s guidance.

• Conduct basic research on products, processes, legislation, and trends.
• Analyze research findings and prepare summary reports.
• Source samples and gather information from vendors.
• Organize and govern project data, research, and documents.
• Measure and maintain effectiveness of innovation and sustainability initiatives.
• Support the preparation of reports, proposals, and submissions.
• Provide assistance in on‑site tests, fulfill information requests, and coordinate meetings.

• 3rd or 4th year student completing a post‑secondary degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Environmental Engineering or Building Sciences.
• Strong analytical and process‑oriented mindset.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of sustainability practices, environmental assessment methods, and related government legislative requirements (LEED, TGS).
• Proficiency in MS Office.
