Located in Inuvik, the Manager reports directly to the Territorial Director, Child, Family and Community Wellness (TD-CFCW). The role ensures client and family needs are supported and addressed within their regional catchment area; identifies and addresses program challenges and opportunities for improvement; establishes program objectives for the region; and reports on and contributes to the evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of program delivery in the region.
The Manager also contributes to the development of the program area across the territory through participation on cross-territory initiatives and projects.
The Manager is responsible for the overall daily management of Beaufort Delta – Child and Family Services and the Family Preservation Program; for an annual operating budget of $4.8 million; and for managing a staffing group of 15+ direct and indirect reports, including Regional Supervisor – Child and Family Services;
Family and Community Social Worker;
Case Aide;
Family Preservation Worker; and Administrative Assistant. The Manager provides support and operational direction to the multidisciplinary workforce, ensures adequate staffing through recruitment and retention, and is accountable for critical decisions affecting clients’ lives. The Manager ensures that services provided by Family and Community Social Workers meet the needs of client groups and the public in accordance with legislation, regulations, standards, and policies, and is responsible for recruiting and managing a skilled workforce.
Qualifications:
Typically a Bachelor's degree in social work and a minimum of five years direct experience as a child and family services social worker, combined with at least two years direct experience supervising child and family services programs. A Master in Social Work and/or a Management Program is an asset.
Proof of immunization in keeping with current public health practices is required.
Must have, or be eligible to receive, a Statutory Appointment in Child Protection and an Adoption Appointment in order to perform child protection and adoption duties.
Must meet the GNWT Professional Registered Social Worker Requirement.
Labour Market SupplementThe successful incumbent will receive a $11,000 supplement upon hire and an additional $11,000 supplement after completion of 12 months of continuous employment, contingent on remaining employed in an eligible position for a further 12 months. This is a taxable benefit and will be subject to applicable deductions.

Salary InformationThe salary for this position starts at $65.25 per hour (approximately $127,237 per annum) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $14,304.
