Shipping/Receiving Clerk
We, at Leggett & Platt Incorporated, are searching for a Shipping/Receiving Clerk within our Operations team to support our automotive business. Our automotive products fall into four primary groups:
Seating and Lumbar support, Motors, Actuators and Massage Systems.
- Schedule shipments by phone, email, or internet. Communicate with carriers and customers regarding delays.
- Prepare shipping documents such as packing slips, bills of lading, and invoices.
- Create master labels and ship-to labels for each outgoing pallet. Relabel boxes if needed.
- Inspect and verify incoming and outgoing labels of goods against the packing slip; report any discrepancies or damages.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other conveyances.
- Direct the driver to sign the shipping documents; retain the signed documents as proof of shipment.
- Send Advanced Shipment Notices (ASNs) to customers by customer portal, EDI or email.
- Update and maintain daily incoming and outgoing documents; forward the proof of shipment documents to accounting department on a daily basis.
- Handle returns, including incoming inspection, documentation, and restocking.
- Maintain inventory accuracy; perform physical inventory counts on a monthly or quarterly basis.
- Perform other tasks assigned by direct manager.
- High School Degree required, college diploma preferred.
- Basic understanding of inventory control principles (FIFO, cycle counting, stock rotation).
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar office role in Supply Chain Management/Logistics is a plus.
- Internal training on processes and procedures.
- Very good command of MS Office and ERP systems usage.
- Knowledge of customs requirements.
- Ability to work in teams.
- Very good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Accurate working style and data entry speed.
Salary ranges from $40,000 to $41,891 based on experience.
