The Senior Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily long-haul transportation operations, ensuring drivers, vehicles, and loads are scheduled and dispatched efficiently. This full‑time, on‑site role is based in Delta, BC and involves assigning routes, monitoring trip progress, and adjusting plans in response to traffic, weather, and customer requirements. The Senior Dispatcher communicates regularly with drivers, customers, and internal teams to resolve issues, update delivery statuses, and maintain high service standards.

The role also includes verifying documentation, supporting compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate records in dispatch systems, and mentoring or guiding junior dispatch staff. The Senior Dispatcher contributes to continuous improvement of dispatch processes, focusing on on‑time delivery, cost control, and strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily dispatch operations for company trucks and drivers
  • Communicate with drivers, customers, and carriers to ensure smooth execution of loads
  • Track shipments and provide proactive updates to customers
  • Quote freight, follow up with leads, and support business development activities
  • Identify new sales opportunities and help grow our transportation network
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers
  • Assist with scheduling, paperwork, and operational reporting
Qualifications
  • Experience in trucking, freight brokerage, dispatch, or logistics sales preferred
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
  • Knowledge of Canadian and US freight lanes is an asset
  • Self‑motivated with a customer‑first attitude
  • Experience with load boards and transportation management systems is an asset
