We currently have an exciting opportunity at our Pogo operation for an experienced and motivated Surface Operator on a four week on, two week off rotating schedule or days and nights.

Reporting to the Surface Operations Supervisor, the Surface Equipment Operator is responsible for operating surface equipment such as haul trucks, loaders, compactors, dozers and forklifts safely and efficiently across all surface operations.

• Unloading of tractor trailer delivery trucks and knowledgeable of equipment load limits as well as load charts.
• Safely and efficiently operate large and small equipment such as haul trucks, loaders, excavators, graders, dozers, forklifts, bobcats, fuel wagon, water truck and small loaders.
• Fuelling static equipment such as heaters.
• Construction and maintenance of surface haul roads, laydowns and parking areas.
• Construction and maintenance of dry stack facility.
• Haul mineralised ore and waste between mining and processing operations.
• Continuously review scheduled jobs to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure all safety related activities are undertaken in accordance with Company policies and MSHA requirements including Hazard IDs, pre‑start checks, pre‑start meetings, and incident reporting.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in all work areas.
• Other duties as required.

• Minimum 2 years experience operating surface equipment such as loaders, haul trucks, skid steers and forklifts.
• Experience operating equipment in extreme weather condition such as temperatures to
  -40 degrees F, snow, ice, wind etc.
• Ability to work unsupervised and display good problem‑solving skills.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Good communication skills.
• Must have good comprehension of safe operating procedures, safety rules, policies, emergency procedures, and MSHA requirements.
• Must pass a post offer physical and drug test, as well as a background check.

You’ll be working a 4 week on, 2 week off rotating schedule of days and nights, up to 12 hours a day or more at a remote campsite. Schedule will be finalized at interview time. Extreme conditions, including but not limited to extreme and changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area.

Employees are required to stay on site at the company provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, games room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and accommodation rooms. Dormitory rooms have a land line phone, internet & cable tv programs. Cell service is available when using Wi‑Fi. The Company provides a bus service to and from Fairbanks, Delta Junction and Tok, Alaska.
