Loan Officer

Manages a portfolio of all types of loan/depository accounts. Responsible for prospecting new customers and cross‑selling other banking services.

• Prospect new customers and solicit new loans. Cross‑sell other banking services to new and existing customers. Maintain ongoing customer contact to ensure good customer relations.
• Perform ongoing management of a portfolio of all types of account relationships, including account reviews, problem solving, research and follow‑up to internal account errors.
• Interview loan applicants: gather and evaluate financial and related data to establish credit worthiness. Monitor customers’ financial condition.
• Review and approve or deny loan requests to new or existing customers up to a pre‑determined limit. Prepare action memos for management review and present credits exceeding authority to the loan committee. Serve and vote as a member of the loan committee if required.
• Monitor loan repayment activities and take necessary action to collect past‑due accounts.
• Participate in preparation of department budget, goals and objectives and strategic planning.
• Participate in civic and community organizations, representing the bank, following personal interests. Attend customer and bank‑sponsored events.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

• Knowledge of agriculture, commercial, and consumer lending procedures.
• Knowledge of credit structuring.
• Knowledge of general banking principles.
• Knowledge of sales and marketing practices and principles.

College degree preferred.
