  • Job Title: Sorter/Clerk
  • FLSA Status: Part-­time – non-exempt
  • Reports to: Corps Officer
  • Schedule: 28 hours per week
  • Rate of Pay: $15.20 per hour
  • Closing Date: 11/25/2025
Benefits
  • Sick leave: 1 day per month (12 days per year), accrued from hire; pro-­rated for part-­time hours.
  • Vacation: 10 days per year, accrued at 0.0385 hours per hour worked (excluding overtime); accrual begins at hire but may not be used until six months of employment.
  • Pension plan: After one year of continuous service, with at least 21 hours worked per week.
Responsibilities
  • Process donations and deliver them to the appropriate departments.
  • Operate the cash register when scheduled.
  • Maintain a friendly and clean store environment.
  • Manage volunteers and community-service workers.
  • Sort donations to ensure they reach the correct department.
  • Remain well-­versed in all department donation procedures.
  • Follow the daily cleaning list.
  • Stock the sales floor as directed, maintaining proper categories and color codes.
  • Treat all customers with respect and curiosity.
  • Assist with store operations, including operating the POS system.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by store managers, the director of retail, or the corps officer.
  • Handle paperwork at night and complete bank deposits; supervise when the store manager is absent.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Requirement to stand on feet for long periods.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Good customer-service skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word documents.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to maneuver, remain stationary, grasp, push, pull, reach overhead, and operate a telephone.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use a computer and understand written information.
  • Qualified individuals may perform essential duties with or without accommodation.
