Job Purpose:

To provide professional support for designing and implementing effective mathematics instruction that will enhance learning opportunities for all students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Implement district-identified mathematics initiatives and curriculum mapping in mathematics using Curriculum Guides and district-adopted textbooks.

Create and deliver model classroom demonstration lessons.

Exhibit excellent planning and organizational skills to handle paperwork and recordkeeping tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

Model the use of technology as a mathematics instructional tool.

Prepare and maintain accurate reports and all related forms and submit to Principal as required.

Participate in professional organizations and in-service opportunities to continually update knowledge base.

Expedite assigned duties with minimal supervision.

Work as part of a team by establishing and maintaining working relationships that foster efficiency and productivity and promote cooperation with administrators, fellow employees, students, faculty, and the public.

Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and teaching skills to effectively communicate with all stakeholders and to enhance collaborative decision-making.

Show strong organization, planning, management, and decision-making skills.

Implement identified “best practices” in mathematics.

Implement accelerated learning in mathematics for low-achieving students.

Apply effective teaching practices, use of adaptive technology, and classroom management strategies.

Communicate effectively with school-based and district staff on professional, specific, and general areas of exceptional student education.

Work harmoniously and cooperatively with both professional staff and the school community.

Provide leadership as a member of the instructional team and use manipulatives and technology tools.

Maintain strong skills and efficiency in record-keeping for compliance and instructional documents.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal.
