• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree.
• Valid/current New Mexico teaching license with appropriate endorsement.
• Alternative qualifications may be accepted at the Superintendent’s discretion.

Building Principal.

To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible individuals.

• Attendance:
  Adheres to district sick leave and personal leave policies; punctual to job assignments and meetings; involved in non‑required school activities; maintains physical stamina.
• Instructional Planning:
  Maintains clear and up‑to‑date lesson plans; maintains up‑to‑date records and reports; relates plans to objectives aligned with curriculum and Educational Standards of New Mexico; previews and prepares needed materials; makes effective use of planning time; revises plans based on student needs; uses test results to diagnose and prescribe improvement; focuses learning on next concept; familiar with non‑academic growth, home environment, and adjustment to school;
  
  provides effective home/school communication; seeks assistance and advice of professional staff; takes advantage of professional enhancement.
• Instructional Methods:
  Develops readiness for learning; uses meaningful objectives; uses words and content appropriate to subject area and ability; provides information clearly and concisely with multidimensional approach; provides guided and independent practice; gives prompt and positive feedback; uses variety of questioning techniques; monitors non‑direct teacher activities; evaluates performance and re‑teaches or enriches; aids students in developing positive self‑concepts; extends students’ thinking skills;
  
  increases motivation.
• Classroom Management:
  Maintains high level of time on task; redirects off‑task students; establishes and communicates behavior parameters; reinforces achievement and good behavior; administers fair discipline; promotes inclusive environment; maintains classroom safety; aware of students’ needs; provides orderly environment; ensures proper care of materials.
• Competency:
  
  Possesses knowledge in assigned grade, subject area or special service; participates in curriculum improvement; continues professional growth; joins professional organizations.

Regularly required to sit, use hands, stand, walk, reach, move up to 25 pounds; vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment.

188 days. Salary and benefits commensurate with contractual commitments.

The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with administrative procedures and established contractual protocols.
