Emergency Medical Technician / PRN Nights

Corr Health is hiring an Emergency Medical Technician / PRN for nights (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.) in Deming, NM. The role includes rapid response to medical emergencies, initial assessments during intake, and day‑to‑day medical needs of the inmate population.

• Respond to emergency calls and provide immediate, efficient care to patients within a correctional facility.
• Assess and document health problems of new patients, develop medical records, and create follow‑up treatment plans.
• Record medical history, treatment, and prescription drug usage.
• Maintain, restock, sterilize, and secure medical emergency bags and equipment.
• Assist coworkers and may act as a resource for other staff.
• Adhere to all facility policies, safety procedures, and security protocols.

• Completion of an Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic course.
• Current and unrestricted certification or registration in the state of employment.
• Preferred prior experience in a correctional or jail setting.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Current TB test taken within one year.

• Clear verbal and written communication with coworkers, supervisors, jail administration, and patients.
• Excellent problem‑solving, deductive reasoning, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency using computer software and standard medical equipment.
• Respect for inmates’ dignity, confidentiality, and security of health records (HIPAA).
• Maintain all certifications, educational requirements, and comply with facility policies.
• Willingness to work overtime and assist coworkers as needed.

• Must be able to move around the facility, including stairs, and transport objects up to 50 pounds.
• Remain calm in stressful, demanding situations.
• Complete background check and pre‑employment drug test.
• Undergo security training and orientation on facility safety policies.

The position is performed inside a correctional facility where employees may be exposed to risk from inmates, blood borne pathogens, and other hazards. Employees must work in accordance with all security rules and mitigate risks to themselves and others.
