Luna Rehabilitation and Care Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), PRN or PART TIME to join our dynamic rehabilitation team in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the evaluation of patients' functional abilities and collaborate with the OT to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Provide direct occupational therapy interventions based on established care plans to improve patients' motor skills, coordination, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Educate patients and their families on adaptive techniques, assistive devices, and strategies to enhance independence.
- Document patient progress, treatment sessions, and responses to therapy in accordance with facility and regulatory guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurses, and other therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and facility regulations and policies, ensuring compliance with ethical and professional standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment and report any issues or concerns to the supervising OT.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education to stay updated on best practices in occupational therapy.
- Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited institution.
- Current and active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state of New Mexico.
- Certification through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or geriatric rehabilitation setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Knowledge of NETHEALTH and documentation procedures.
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
