Essential Job Functions
  • Must portray a positive attitude under all circumstances, understand and represent the core values of Chiricahua Apache Plaza and live the mission of always providing exceptional service.
  • Ability to resolve customer complaints where applicable and escalation to appropriate level of management as required.
  • Participate in cross-training.
  • Maintain a safe and clean retail environment including cleaning shower areas, restrooms, floors throughout our facility, laundry areas, lounges, fuel islands, and parking lot.
  • Abide by all liquor regulations.
  • Follow all safety standards about food handling and the policies and protocols for proper rotation of food products received and used.
  • Accept and properly inventory all deliveries and perform any inventory counts as assigned.
  • Perform daily tasks including preparation of food products as directed.
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
  • Regular attendance is required.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. High school diploma preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Customer service, cash handling, and cooking experience preferred; however, training will be given if necessary.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be able to work effectively with peers, staff members, and regulatory agency personnel.
  • Knowledge of personal computers, point of sale systems, safety equipment and various kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to obtain required licenses or certificates.
Core Competencies & Equipment Knowledge
  • Adhere to and act in accordance with all policies and procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards may apply based on uniform requirements). Where uniforms are required, they must be clean and pressed at the beginning of each shift.
  • Knowledge and ability to operate kitchen equipment, e.g., stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles, etc.
  • Sufficient dexterity with hands to use all kitchen equipment, i.e., knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers, etc.
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks and change focus quickly as demands change; manage transitions effectively from task to task; adapt to varying team member and guest needs.
Supportive Functions
  • Report any suspicious persons or activity immediately to a supervisor.
  • Advise Management of any safety hazards and/or violations to insure a prompt remedy.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member may be required to work around extreme temperatures. Additionally, team member may be required to sit; reach with hands and arms, stand for prolonged periods, work in confined spaces, walk, climb, or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The team member may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duty of this job, the team member is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands.

The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second‑hand environmental smoke. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate.

At a minimum, the selected candidate will be required to pass a background check and drug‑screening test, obtain a New Mexico food handler permit, and should have the ability to become alcohol server certified.
