Our client, a globally recognised energy corporation with a strong international presence, is currently seeking a Financial Supervisor to join their dynamic, multicultural, and multilingual team in The Hague.

Job Profile for Financial Supervisor

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Manage, develop, and support direct reports, fostering a high-performing team capable of meeting business objectives
• Lead employee selection, development, and engagement activities within the assigned area of responsibility
• Ensure compliance with applicable policies, legislation, and regulatory requirements across the organisation
• Maintain the cost centre and WBS structure and perform cost corrections where required
• Review trial balances and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Prepare and ensure financial statements comply with IFRS, US GAAP, and applicable local accounting standards
• Support the consolidation and reporting of financial results across the wider group
• Prepare management reports and financial reporting packages for senior leadership, subsidiaries, and affiliated entities
• Monitor accounting transactions to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures
• Lead the implementation of new accounting standards, policies, and reporting requirements
• Identify control deficiencies, assess financial risks, and implement appropriate corrective actions
• Ensure financial reporting processes comply with internal control frameworks, including audit trails and segregation of duties
• Maintain accurate documentation to support compliance reviews and audit requirements
• Coordinate the preparation and submission of audit schedules, working papers, and supporting documentation
• Support internal and external audits and implement agreed audit recommendations
• Ensure compliance with statutory reporting obligations and regulatory filing requirements
• Participate in finance transformation initiatives and organisational projects as a subject matter expert
• Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 10+ years’ finance experience, of which at least 5 years in accounting and financial reporting
• Strong technical knowledge and practical application of IFRS
• Qualified Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant (CA, CPA, or equivalent)
• Previous experience within a Big 4 accounting firm
• Combination of public practice and industry/commercial experience
• Experience leading accounting and reporting functions in organisations with demanding reporting cycles and tight deadlines
• Proven leadership experience managing teams within complex, deadline-driven environments
• Experience working within large commercial and industrial organisations
