For the violin faculty of the Classical Department, we are looking for a
Teacher for orchestral parts
-violin (0,2 fte)

What will you do?
The position entails:
- teaching weekly orchestral part lessons to violin students from the Bachelor, Master programmes, individually or in a group;
- helping students prepare for orchestral auditions, including audition training and sectional rehearsals for orchestra projects;
- preparing students for participation in our Orchestra Master programme;
- participating in formal student assessment procedures;
Your profile
- has ample experience as a violinist in a professional orchestra, with broad knowledge of orchestral repertoire;
- is able to play and teach the specific techniques connected to several styles as required in symphonic and chamber orchestras;
- is a renowned musical personality with great artistic and pedagogical ability;
- preferably has a proven track record of successful teaching in higher music education;
- is a team player who can work closely with colleagues, in particular from the violin section;
- can coach, inspire and motivate students, and has excellent communication skills;
- has a vision on the changing and evolving roles of the orchestra;
- shows interest in the relation between performance and research, and preferably has experience and affinity with artistic research;
- is open to curricular innovation;
- holds a Master of Music or equivalent (foreign) diploma;
- is willing to complete the conservatoire’s “Artist as Teacher” training, thus obtaining a BKE-certificate;
- is proficient in English and able to operate in an international environment;
- please note that you have to be in the possession of a valid permanent work permit at the start of the employment.
What do we offer?

The position is rated in scale 11 of the CAO (collective labour agreement) for HBO (higher professional education). The CAO offers a generous vacation scheme, 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus. You can also participate in health insurance on favourable terms. The expected teaching load is part‑time in nature and depends on the number of students.
It is expected at the start to amount to around 0,2 fte of a full‑time position. The teaching is expected to start in September 2026.
