American School of The Hague (ASH) is looking for a 40% part‑time Occupational Therapist for SY 2026‑2027 (2 days per week). Start date is August 1, 2026.

Wassenaar, the Netherlands.

Fluent English is essential.

You are a certificated Occupational Therapist with a Master’s degree. You have proven expertise in the evaluation, assessment and diagnosis of associated disorders, and at least three years of experience in an educational setting.

• Knowledge and experience working with students with mild to moderate difficulties (ADHD, Autism, SI) from Preschool through Grade 12.
• Outstanding oral, written communication and organizational skills.
• Collaborative experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to be flexible and creative to ensure the greatest level of student success.
• Solid background in technology and use of IT.

The Occupational Therapist will develop and contribute to learning support plans related to the specific needs of students from Preschool to Grade 12 in conjunction with the Student Support Team. You will design and provide therapeutic strategies and treatment plans to strengthen skills and increase school success. Your role is supervised by the Student Support Director.

You will fulfill the role of a school‑based Occupational Therapy practitioner, supporting academic achievement and social participation in collaboration with the Student Support Team. Responsibilities include evaluating and determining student needs, demonstrating and modeling instructional strategies for classroom teachers, developing and updating Individual Learning Plans, coordinating meetings and processes for students, and participating actively in school‑wide, divisional and Student Support Team meetings.

• Conduct evaluations/screenings to identify barriers to success, determine treatment plans, set goals, and develop recommendations for teachers.
• Develop and implement therapy plans and interventions according to best practice.
• Source/create educational materials to remediate skill deficits and minimize barriers to learning.
• Design therapeutic strategies to strengthen skills and improve school performance.
• Maintain files and/or records.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, physicians, administration, and other professionals to communicate information, resolve issues, and provide services.

Strong, open communication is essential. You will maintain regular communications with parents, and participate fully in school‑wide and grade‑level meetings, contributing to our professional learning community.
