About the role
We are looking for a Technical Buyer who combines technical understanding with strong purchasing skills. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring components and services based on technical drawings, specifications and engineering requirements. You act as the link between Engineering and suppliers, ensuring that externally produced parts meet both technical and commercial expectations.
Responsibilities- Translate engineering drawings and specifications into clear supplier requests
- Request, evaluate and compare quotations (technical and commercial)
- Place purchase orders and manage the full procurement cycle
- Supplier selection & management
- Select and qualify suppliers based on technical capability, quality, cost and delivery performance
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
- Act as first point of contact for supplier issues and coordination
- Engineering & production interface
- Work closely with Engineering to assess manufacturability
- Support make‑or‑buy decisions
- Align with Production on delivery needs and priorities
- Performance & improvement
- Monitor supplier performance (quality, lead time, reliability)
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, lead time improvement and process optimisation
- MBO+ education in a technical or supply chain related field
- 2‑4 years of experience in technical purchasing or a similar role
- Strong ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
- Affinity with manufacturing processes (machining, composites or similar)
- Good negotiation and communication skills
- Analytical mindset and structured way of working
- Proficiency in English and/or Dutch
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus
- Residence in the Netherlands

In this role, you will further develop into a technical procurement specialist, gaining in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, supplier capabilities and sourcing strategies. KVE will support your development through on‑the‑job learning with Engineering and Production, exposure to complex technical sourcing challenges and training in purchasing, negotiation and supplier management. Over time, you will play an increasingly important role in improving the performance and maturity of our supply chain.
WorkingConditions
