A well-established machine building company in Zuid-Holland is looking for a  freelance Electrical Engineer (ZZP)  to support the electrical design and realization of complex industrial machines and production systems. You will play a key role in translating functional requirements into robust electrical designs and supporting the build, testing, and commissioning phases of custom-built machinery.

This role offers hands‑on involvement in innovative machine‑building projects within a professional engineering environment.
Your Role   Design and engineer electrical systems for industrial machines and automated production lines.
Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts (EPLAN P8 or similar).
Select and specify electrical components such as PLC hardware, drives, sensors, safety components, and control cabinets.
Support panel builders and machine assembly teams during construction and installation.
Assist with FAT/SAT, commissioning, and troubleshooting of machines on‑site or at the workshop.
Ensure designs comply with applicable standards and directives (IEC, NEN, CE, Machinery Directive).
Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, automation engineers, and project management.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, BOMs, and electrical manuals.
Your Profile   5+ years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer within machine building or industrial automation.
Strong experience with electrical design tools such as  EPLAN P8  (or equivalent).
Solid understanding of industrial electrical systems, control panels, and machine safety.
Familiar with PLC‑based control systems and industrial field devices.
Experience supporting commissioning and on‑site troubleshooting.
Fluent in  Dutch and English  (Dutch required).
Registered  ZZP’er  with the right to work in the Netherlands.
Available for on‑site work in Zuid-Holland.
Bonus Skills   

Experience with machine safety (PL/SIL, EN ISO 13849, IEC 62061).
Knowledge of drives, servo systems, and motion control hardware.
Experience in high‑mix, low‑volume custom machine projects.
Basic understanding of PLC programming and automation architectures.
