Are you an experienced Electrical Designer with a strong foundation in offshore platform and energy system design?
* This is a project based role, for candidates with an EU passport.
About the Company
Our client operates within a highly specialized Offshore & Energy division, delivering innovative, safe, and reliable engineering solutions for complex offshore projects. The organization brings together multidisciplinary teams to tackle technically challenging environments, ensuring high standards in design, safety, and execution.
You will be part of a collaborative engineering team working closely with various disciplines, contributing to the successful delivery of offshore production platforms. The environment encourages knowledge sharing, technical excellence, and continuous improvement, offering exposure to advanced tools and large-scale energy projects.
What Will You Do?
Design and develop detailed LV power distribution systems for offshore platforms
Support the design of HV substations and offshore lighting layouts
Prepare LV switch gear layouts and UPS system designs
Develop and maintain cable lists, routing plans, and associated documentation
Create single-line diagrams (SLDs) and electrical block diagrams
Produce termination, hookup, and mounting diagrams
Design earthing systems, lighting, and small power layouts
Prepare hazardous area classification drawings and material take-offs (MTOs)
Perform cable sizing, selection, and electrical calculations
Utilize 3D modelling tools such as Navisworks for design integration
Work with Smart Plant instrumentation for accurate system modelling with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design alignment
Interface with clients and vendors to support project execution and delivery
What Do You Bring?
12 years experience as a Designer
EU passport holder
Proven experience working in an EPC environment
Proven experience working in either Oil and Gas, Renewable Wind Energy, or Offshore projects
Proven experience in greenfield LV power distribution design within offshore and HV substation projects
Strong knowledge of LV systems, including switch gear, UPS, distribution boards, and cable sizing/calculations
Experience preparing key electrical deliverables such as cable lists, routing plans, SLDs, block diagrams, and layouts
Familiarity with earthing, lighting, small power systems, hazardous areas, and MTO preparation
Proficiency in termination, mounting, and hookup design documentation
Experience with E3D or Smart Plant Instrumenation
Strong coordination and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
