ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARYThis is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Spectrum team within a dynamic industry and be involved in projects allowing the spectrum team to have fast and precise access to critical information by contributing to integrate spectrum coordination and administrative data into new database tools. In the process you will be able to learn about various and fascinating aspects of satellite frequency coordination and related regulatory aspects.
PRIMARYRESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS
Based in our office in The Hague, The Netherlands you will contribute to integrate spectrum coordination and administrative data into new database tools called MCR & RLD:
- MCR (Master Coordination Requirement) tool will permit you to quickly assess the regulatory status of frequency rights at each orbital slot with associated coordination constraints
- RLD (Regulatory Letter Database) tool will ease and improve the treatment of regulatory letters received from all administrations worldwide and from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
This work will allow you to gain insights into frequency coordination agreements, which are at the heart of the boundary conditions of how our spacecraft can operate. You will work together with the best spectrum experts in the field to integrate relevant data into the database tools. You will have to familiarize yourself with the specifics and terminology of the spectrum world.
COMPETENCIES- Necessary skills to work independently, while not hesitating to seek advice when in doubt
- Attention to detail in reviewing technical documents and agreements, and ability to understand the contents
- Curiosity to understand fundamentals of technical elements in frequency coordination agreements and related regulations
- Willingness to review elements of the ITU Radio Regulations relevant for the job
- Bachelor or advanced degree in engineering (preferably electrical, telecommunications or aerospace)
- Experience with databases (Access)
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Excellent analytical and judgment skills
- Easiness to communicate at all levels
