Job Description & How to Apply Below
Join an advanced semiconductor company at the forefront of high-performance timing and frequency technologies used across communications, cloud infrastructure, automotive, aerospace, and industrial markets. Their cutting-edge solutions combine MEMS, analog, and digital engineering to deliver exceptional precision, stability, and reliability for some of the world’s most demanding electronic systems.
As part of continued global growth, the company is seeking a Principal FPGA Design Engineer to lead the development of sophisticated FPGA-based platforms supporting product validation, characterization, and production testing of next-generation precision timing devices.
The Opportunity
This is a highly visible technical leadership role focused on architecting scalable FPGA solutions used in signal integrity analysis, frequency measurement, jitter characterization, and system-level validation. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and play a key role in shaping future platform strategy and development.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and develop FPGA-based hardware platforms for internal validation and characterization systems.
Lead complex technical initiatives across hardware, systems, validation, test, and production engineering teams.
Define system-level requirements and ensure alignment between FPGA, software, and hardware development activities.
Own the FPGA development lifecycle including architecture, RTL design, simulation, synthesis, timing closure, and hardware bring-up.
Develop reusable FPGA IP and scalable infrastructure to support future platform expansion.
Drive engineering excellence through design reviews, documentation standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across multiple programs.
Partner with product and operations teams to ensure successful integration and execution.
Requirements
MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of FPGA architecture and development experience using Xilinx, Intel/Altera, or similar platforms.
Advanced knowledge of Verilog/VHDL, simulation tools, and scripting languages such as Python and TCL.
Strong experience developing systems requiring low jitter, low phase noise, and high signal fidelity.
Deep understanding of timing analysis, clock domain crossing, and high-speed interfaces including PCIe, DDR, and SERDES.
Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, debugging, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and automated testing.
Demonstrated success delivering complex cross-functional engineering projects.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Exposure to timing, frequency control, or MEMS-related technologies.
Experience with embedded systems and hardware/software co-design.
Familiarity with automated production test environments and ATE systems.
Ability to present technical strategies and outcomes to senior leadership.
Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to join a highly innovative engineering environment where you will work on complex, technically challenging products alongside industry-leading experts. The role offers strong technical ownership, strategic influence, and the chance to contribute to technologies powering next-generation electronic systems worldwide.
If you are an experienced FPGA engineering professional looking to work on industry-leading semiconductor technology in a highly innovative environment, we would love to hear from you.
