Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: The Hague

R&D Engineer required to join a growing quantum computing company.

You will develop and optimize Josephson Travelling Wave Parametric Amplifiers for qubit readout, working hands‑on across design, fabrication, and measurement. This role suits a PhD‑level engineer or scientist with experience in superconducting microwave circuits, quantum‑limited amplification, and a passion for driving technical innovation in quantum technologies.

Responsibilities

Research and develop quantum amplifiers for qubit readout, focusing on extending bandwidth, improving noise performance, and integrating peripheral functions such as pump coupling and isolation.

Contribute to theory, design, fabrication, and/or measurement of quantum amplifiers and readout circuits, depending on your expertise.

Present findings and proposals clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, influencing roadmap and product decisions.

Stay informed of relevant literature and state‑of‑the‑art techniques in parametric amplification, actively proposing new ideas and approaches to advance the team’s work.

Your Profile

PhD or equivalent industry experience in quantum‑limited amplification, parametric amplifiers (e.g., TWPAs, JPAs), or related superconducting microwave circuits.

Hands‑on experience with at least some aspects of the amplifier development cycle (design, simulation, fabrication, or cryogenic measurement).

Proven ability to independently drive technical development, structure priorities, and solve open‑ended problems in an R&D environment.

Passion for pushing qubit readout amplifiers to the physical limits in a fast‑paced research setting.

Excellent communication skills, able to present complex technical findings and influence decisions across disciplines.

Professional development for training, conferences, and certifications.

Opportunity to work hands‑on with cutting‑edge quantum readout technology.

Collaborative, multidisciplinary environment with direct impact on R&D and product roadmap.

Exposure to the full amplifier development lifecycle, from theory to cryogenic measurement.

Regular team building and knowledge‑sharing events in a dynamic startup environment.
