Are you technically skilled and experienced in project-based procurement? Do you want to apply your knowledge in challenging international projects and contribute to the energy transition and digitalization? Then this Project Buyer role in The Hague at Siemens is tailor‑made for you!

Your Role
As a Senior Project Buyer, you play a critical role in securing the success of large-scale international datacenter projects across Europe and Asia. You are responsible for sourcing complex technical components and modular structures. You thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure project environment where priorities can shift quickly and decisive action is required. You act as a key interface between engineering, sales, and project management, taking ownership of procurement strategy from the early sales phase to execution.

In addition, you actively contribute to developing and expanding our international supplier base, including onboarding new suppliers and strengthening supplier capabilities to meet growing project demands. You'll join a close‑knit, multicultural team of 12 in The Hague, where collaboration, respect, and humor are valued.

Your Responsibilities

Lead complex end‑to‑end RFQ processes within the Modular Structures domain, from early sales phase to execution handover.

Prepare total cost of ownership analyses, including detailed price breakdowns for technical components and systems.

Lead contract negotiations and secure commercial agreements with international suppliers.

Drive and document supplier selection processes and contract awards.

Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers to strengthen and expand the international supply base.

Develop supplier capacity and performance to ensure scalability and reliability for large‑volume projects.

Define and execute sourcing strategies during the sales phase to ensure competitiveness and feasibility.

Act as escalation point for critical supplier issues in high‑pressure project situations.

Proactively manage supply risks related to price, capacity, lead times, and market constraints.

Support claim management and supplier escalation procedures.

Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes including sustainability, digitalisation and cost optimisation initiatives.

As a Senior procurement professional, you support and advise the junior team members and drive cost‑out initiatives and efficiency improvements.

Your Background

Minimum 10 years of project procurement experience, with at least 5 years focused on technical equipment and familiarity with international contracts. Experience in commodity / category management is a plus.

Strong affinity for technology, a deep understanding of complex technical products and fluency in English (spoken and written).

Proactive, analytical, highly resilient and able to perform under pressure in a fast moving, project driven environment with tight deadlines.

Strong ownership mindset with the ability to make decisions in uncertain and rapidly changing situations.

A technical degree combined with a Bachelor’s degree in procurement/supply chain or a NEVI 2 certification is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office and Power BI is a plus.
