Job Description
The role is specific for offshore pipeline design experience (marine environment) with onshore pipeline design experience preferable.

Responsibilities

Ensures technical oversight (assure, monitor, review & assess, risk management) of all pipeline design aspects as per applicable codes, standards, and project specifications and delivered in a timely manner.

Technical clarifications are raised, responded to and closed out during the tender phase.

Where derogations have been identified, performs technical and risk‐based assessment for guidance and approval, acting as a technical authority and liaising with subject matter experts within partner projects.

Interfaces with other technical disciplines such as structural engineering, flow assurance, process engineering, PVV (Piping, Vessels, Valves), technical safety, coating engineering and materials/corrosion engineering to meet project design requirements.

Interfaces with disciplines and the delivery team to ensure safe construction (diving, lifting, metocean, geotechnical) and safe pre‑commissioning/commissioning, including constructability reviews, trenching, burial strategies and oversight of geotechnical considerations and long‑term integrity for onshore and offshore routing.

Monitors and supports interfaces across packages, including offshore interfaces with subsea facilities, crossings and onshore interfaces with terminal and compressor station projects.

Participates in HAZID/HAZOP, PID review, safety engineering review and 3D model reviews as required.

Prepares project reviews and responds to findings.

Promotes innovation and cost effectiveness in seeking technical solutions without compromising reliability or HSE aspects of the project.

Coordinates with ESC engineering services contractors once selected to deliver the EPCI technical dossiers within their discipline.

Coordinates with the Independent Verification Body (IVB) to support initial verification of SECEs, performance standard development and overall design conformity.

Fosters a culture of sharing and collaboration within the JV.

Leads by example and encourages all team members to take personal responsibility for their actions.

Qualifications

Engineering degree in a relevant discipline.

10 years of professional experience in the technical discipline, having managed and delivered projects and engineering studies, with at least 5 years in an offshore and marine environment.

Experience with relevant codes and standards (NEN series, IOGP S‑616, DNV F104) and recognized as a subject‑matter expert or technical authority.

Excellent people and team‑management skills, culturally sensitive, with demonstrable team building, organisational and leadership abilities.

Effective communicator with proven interpersonal skills.

Preferred:
Experience working with Total Energies General Specifications.

Preferred:
Specific offshore pipeline fabrication and installation experience (e.g., welding and NDT on large‑diameter trunklines on pipelay vessels).

Preferred:
Site experience in fabrication and construction (onshore and offshore) including HSSE and quality assurance requirements.

Flexibility in terms of mobility.

Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required;
Dutch speaking is an advantage.
