The Senior Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring detailed project schedules for pharmaceutical capital projects, using Primavera P6. This role works closely with cross-discipline teams to ensure the effective planning and execution of projects in alignment with regulatory requirements and GMP standards. The Senior Planner acts as a critical link between project teams, contractors, and stakeholders, providing schedule analysis, progress tracking, and early warning on potential delays.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage comprehensive, fully integrated project schedules in Primavera P6 for all phases (design, procurement, construction, commissioning, validation).
Liaise with project managers, engineering, procurement, construction, and QA/QC teams to incorporate all project activities and milestones into the master schedule.
Monitor project progress, update schedules with actuals, identify critical paths, constraints, and produce "what-if" analyses as required.
Conduct regular schedule reviews with internal and external stakeholders, identifying and communicating schedule risks and mitigation solutions.
Prepare and present detailed and summary level schedules, look-ahead reports, progress measurements, and executive dashboards.
Provide input to resource loading and tracking, ensuring clear visibility of resource demands and bottlenecks.
Participate in interactive planning sessions and risk workshops, supporting scenario planning and project re-baselining as needed.
Interface with contractors, suppliers, and external partners to validate and integrate their schedules.
Maintain adherence to planning and control standards, ensuring compliance with GMP and other relevant pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
Support the change management process by assessing schedule impacts of scope changes and variations.
Assist with close-out reporting, lesson learned documentation, and schedule archiving.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior planners or project control colleagues as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical field.
Minimum 7 years’ planning/scheduling experience, with substantial experience in the pharmaceutical or similarly regulated sector.
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (mandatory).
Demonstrated experience planning/EPCMV (Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management, Validation) projects.
Strong understanding of GMP, regulatory phases, and pharmaceutical project delivery methodologies.
Proficient with MS Project, Excel, and reporting tools.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Experience working with contractors, multi-disciplinary design teams, and multiple project stakeholders.
