About GTM Advanced Structures GTM Advanced Structures develops, manufactures, and tests advanced structural panels and photovoltaic assemblies — including high-end aluminum-honeycomb sandwich panels — for the aerospace and space industries. Our hardware is integrated into satellite systems where failure is not an option. We are strengthening our R&D capability to advance process technology ahead of production scale‑up.
The Role We are looking for a Process R&D Manager to support the development and qualification of our core manufacturing processes — bonding, lay‑up, curing, and assembly. You will translate materials and engineering knowledge into robust, validated process routes that production can rely on. This is an R&D leadership role: you set the process development agenda, run experiments, and deliver qualified process packages — not a shop‑floor execution or department‑build trajectory.
Key Responsibilities Process R&D leadership:
Define and drive the process development roadmap for new and existing programs.
Experimental development:
Plan and execute DOEs, trials, and validation studies on bonding, composites, adhesives, and cure processes.
Technology transfer:
Convert R&D findings into documented, qualified process definitions ready for production adoption.
Cross‑functional collaboration:
Work with Engineering, Production, and Quality on NPI, process changes, and root‑cause investigations.
Process documentation:
Maintain work instructions, process control plans, and validation records in line with AS9100 and customer requirements.
Your Profile WO in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering (or equivalent).
Strong background in process R&D in a high‑tech manufacturing environment — composites, adhesives, or aerospace preferred.
Experienced in experimental design, data analysis, and process validation.
Comfortable leading technical work while staying hands‑on in the lab and on the production floor when needed.
Quality‑ and detail‑oriented; you understand the rigour required for space hardware.
Fluent in English;
Dutch is an advantage.
What We Offer A senior R&D role with direct impact on space‑grade manufacturing technology. Work on hardware that goes into orbit, in a passionate, technically driven team. Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with experience and responsibility.
