As an Engineer in Offshore & Shipbuilding, you play a crucial role in creating safe, sustainable and efficient projects on or offshore. From shipbuilding to floating offshore platforms.
Responsibilities The Principal Instrumentation Engineer acts as the Technical Lead for the allotted FPSO engineering project, overseeing the design, specification, integration, and delivery of instrumentation systems. This includes Process Control Systems, Integrated Control & Safety Systems (ICSS), Fire & Gas Systems, and Telecommunication Systems.
You utilize your technical expertise to develop safe and quality solutions in support of projects and discipline requirements without guidance.
You ensure successful resolution of complex technical issues to meet projects and discipline deliverables.
You engage with peers across Regional Centers to promote knowledge sharing and act as a consultant and mentor to less experienced engineers within the discipline to ensure knowledge transfer, product memory, and application of best practices.
You work in conjunction with Discipline Manager;
Discipline Leads and engineering staff to seek continuous improvement in both quality and efficiency of the work.
You improve and promote continuously your technical knowledge and capabilities by staying abreast of the latest industry developments, including internal technology readiness and ensuring that lessons learnt are effectively captured from the fleet, projects and technology.
You may act as Discipline Lead for assigned scope of work and/or may be designated as a Technical Expert (TE) and/or Engineering Method Authority.
You may act as the primary technical contact for instrumentation matters with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Control Engineering.
Minimum 25 years of experience in offshore oil & gas instrumentation engineering.
Strong experience with FPSO systems or FLNG and marine instrumentation.
Proficiency in Smart Plant Instrumentation and AVEVA tools.
Deep understanding of hazardous area design and functional safety (IEC 61508, IEC 61511).
Fluency in communicative English.
