Event Management & Planning, Customer Service Rep, Event Staff/ Venue Crew
Are you an experienced hospitality or event professional who keeps an overview when everything is happening at once? Do you thrive on variety, teamwork, and quickly recognizing, resolving, or preventing operational challenges? Then we would love to get to know you, because we are looking for a new colleague to strengthen our Duty team!
Duty Manager Events job profileApproximately 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in hospitality, events, or operational event execution
The ability to independently take charge of events and assume responsibility during execution
Availability for 40 hours per week. Start date by mutual agreement.
You speak and write fluent Dutch and English
As Duty Manager, you are responsible for the operational execution on the floor. Preparation and planning are handled by Project Management, but as soon as setup starts and the event approaches, you are the one who translates the script into practice.
You ensure that teams know what needs to be done, that the client is unburdened, and that the event runs smoothly, safely, and professionally. You are the point of contact for the client during the setup, execution, and dismantling of the event, liaising with internal teams, suppliers, and other involved parties.
You work on a wide mix of conferences and events, often multi-day and international, but also on national gatherings, smaller events, and cultural shows. What makes this position enjoyable is that you are at the heart of the operation. You are actively involved, liaise quickly with colleagues, clients, and suppliers, and see the direct results of your work. No event and no client is the same.
One day it is about tight organization, the next about making quick adjustments, reassuring a client, or resolving a bottleneck before it escalates.
Good to Know
This position requires flexibility. Events do not only take place from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00. You will work irregular hours, with long shifts, in the evenings, on weekends, and on public holidays. This needs to suit you. You will also work in a small team. Therefore, if someone is absent, this also requires flexibility.
On the other hand, you work in an environment where there is a lot going on and where you really make a difference. You see immediately when an event is running smoothly, when a client is satisfied, and when visitors go home with a good feeling. It is precisely this variety, responsibility, and collaboration that make this role special.
