Head of Tax Planning & Risk Management | Den Haag

Position

At their offices in The Hague, a position has arisen for a Head of Tax Planning & Risk Management, reporting to the Global Head of International Tax & Structure (also based in The Hague). In this role, you will be responsible for all tax planning and risk management matters across all geographies in which Yinson Production operates. You will provide strategic and technical tax leadership, supporting global and regional tax teams on international tax issues while driving process improvement and policy development.

This is a senior, high-impact position suited for a seasoned international tax professional who combines technical depth with leadership, business acumen, and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Tax Planning & Risk Management team and play a leadership role in the organization;
  • Advise on the tax implications of acquisitions, divestments, restructurings, and new project investments;
  • Develop and maintain global tax strategies and policies, including tax control frameworks and change management initiatives;
  • Support regional tax leads in monitoring international tax developments and implementing risk mitigation strategies;
  • Ensure global tax compliance and accurate provisioning for taxation risks at both local and consolidated levels;
  • Identify and execute tax-efficient methodologies for restructuring and optimizing existing organizational structures;
  • Review legal agreements and contracts to ensure that tax terms and clauses are appropriately incorporated;
  • Maintain strong working relationships with tax authorities, auditors, and external advisors;
  • Facilitate learning, development, and resource planning within the global tax team.

Candidate

The ideal candidate is an accomplished tax professional with extensive experience in international tax planning, risk management, and M&A support, who can operate confidently in a complex, multinational organization.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Tax Law, Fiscal Economics, or an equivalent accounting qualification.

  • At least 12 years of experience in international taxation, with 6+ years in a Big 4 or law firm environment and some in-house experience.
  • Strong understanding of Dutch tax legislation (additionally experience in Singaporean tax legislation is considered a plus);
  • Solid knowledge of transfer pricing and exposure to tax accounting;
  • Proven ability to lead cross-border projects and manage multiple stakeholders;
  • Experience in M&A projects, tax controversy, and risk assessment;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively;
  • Systematic and solution-oriented mindset, with high attention to detail and a strategic perspective;
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and collaborative, capable of thriving in a fast-paced, international environment;
  • Experience with in the offshore or energy industry and prior in-house experience are considered strong advantages.
