IOM in The Netherlands has been the main implementer of Assisted Voluntary
Return and Reintegration (AVRR) activities since 1992. Voluntary return is one of
the main pillars of the Dutch return policy, with voluntary return taking precedence
over forced returns.
During the past decades IOM has evolved to cover the full range of AVRR support:
1) Pre-departure support including assistance tailored to the needs of migrants in
situation of vulnerability, facilitating travel documentation;

2) Travel assistance; and

3) Post arrival and reintegration. IOM has developed more specialized activities
offering specific support to migrants in a situation of vulnerability including medical
cases, victims of trafficking and unaccompanied migrant children.

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Unit AVRR Project Coordination and
Liaison in The Hague and direct supervision of the Senior AVRR project assistant
and, in close collaboration with relevant units at IOM The Netherlands and different
governmental partners, the successful candidate will support and assist the Senior Project Assistant with the relevant administrative and financial processes for the AVRR program.

IOM The Netherlands is looking for a new staff member who will assist the Senior Project Assistant with the relevant administrative and financial processes for the AVRR program.

• School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or,
• Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International
  Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights,
  Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two
  years of relevant professional experience.

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

• Experience in liaising with governmental authorities,
  national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and nongovernmental
  organizations;
• Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced
  persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
• Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations,
  non-government or government institutions/organization in a multicultural
  setting is an advantage.
