Location:
Denison, IA (work during weekend nights).
Manages individualized, goal‑directed nursing care through the nursing process and principles of primary nursing, in accordance with departmental and hospital policies. Performs Charge Nurse duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assesses and diagnoses patient and family needs to provide quality care.
- Develops, discusses, and communicates a realistic problem list (plan of care) for each patient in collaboration with patients, families, and significant others.
- Implements the medical plan of care, nursing interventions and procedures for patient care.
- Evaluates problems, care provided, and patient responses, reassessing to meet patient and family needs for overall quality of care.
- Maintains accurate documentation of nursing care to integrate information for the health care team.
- Maintains current knowledge, certifications, and licensure; pursues professional growth and development.
- Acts as a role model for current and new staff.
- Attends all required safety training programs and understands responsibilities related to general safety, departmental safety, and job‑specific hazards.
- Follows the hospital exposure control plans for blood borne and airborne pathogens.
- Demonstrates respect for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and employees, ensuring a professional, courteous environment.
- Promotes effective working relationships and collaborates as part of a department/unit team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Complete annual education requirements.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Report to work on time and as scheduled.
- Wear identification while on duty.
- Maintain regulatory, state, federal, and local compliance.
- Represent the organization positively and professionally.
- Comply with all organizational policies.
- Conduct oneself professionally in accordance with PRIDE values.
- Participate in performance and continuous quality improvement.
- Attend regular staff meetings and in‑services.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Attend continuing education to maintain licensure.
- Current state registration or eligibility to obtain it.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and PEARS certification.
- Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing.
