Summary
Under the general direction of the Director of Physical Therapy, provides physical services to patients following the plan of care established by a physical therapist.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Under the supervision of a physical therapist, provides physical therapy services, reassessing the patient’s status on each visit and ensuring quality of care as evidenced in the clinical record.
- Coordinates patient care with other clinical team members ensuring optimal patient care and communication as evidenced in the clinical record.
- Completes all required paperwork following policies and procedures to ensure that documentation reflects care provided and the outcomes achieved as evidenced in the clinical record.
- Maintains and enhances personal knowledge as well as promoting professional standards in physical therapy.
- Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
- Follows the hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
- Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a team inter- and intra- departmentally to facilitate the department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Complete annual education requirements.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Report to work on time and as scheduled.
- Wear identification while on duty.
- Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.
- Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
- Comply with all organizational policies.
- Conduct oneself as a professional in accordance with PRIDE values.
- Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Attend regular staff meetings and in-services.
- Graduate of an approved associate degree program as a PTA
- Currently licensed in the state of Iowa
- Two years’ experience with a varied patient population
