Position Title: LPN/RN - Med Unit (Part-Time Weekend Shift) at Crawford County Clinic
Position OverviewManages individualized, goal‑directed nursing care through the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and diagnose patient and family needs to provide quality care to assigned patients.
- Develop, discuss, and communicate a realistic problem list (plan of care) for each patient in collaboration with the patient, family, or significant other to address all identified needs.
- Demonstrate the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions and procedures as necessary for patient care.
- Evaluate identified problems and care provided, reassessing patient responses to meet patient and family needs to ensure overall quality of care delivered.
- Maintain up‑to‑date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure integration of information for use by the health care team to ensure quality care.
- Maintain current knowledge, certification, and licensure; pursue professional growth and development.
- Act as a role model for current and new staff.
- Attend all required safety training programs and describe responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job‑related hazards.
- Follow the hospital exposure control plans (blood borne and airborne pathogens).
- Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
- Promote effective working relations and work effectively as part of a department/unit team inter‑ and intra‑departmentally to facilitate the department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Complete annual education requirements.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Report to work on time and as scheduled.
- Wear identification while on duty.
- Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal, and local regulations.
- Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
- Comply with all organizational policies.
- Conduct oneself as a professional in accordance with PRIDE values.
- Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Attend regular staff meetings and in‑services.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Attend continuing education programs to maintain licensure.
- Current state registration or eligibility to do so.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and PEARS certification.
- Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills.
