Weekend Meteorologist

KTEN Television, the NBC/ABC/CW affiliates in Denison, Texas, has an opening for a full-time Weekend Meteorologist.

• Responsible for gathering weather information for various newscasts, digital and media platforms.

• Responsible for the content and presentation of weather information, both on-air and on digital.
• Responsible for the creation of visually engaging weather graphics and maps to help our viewers completely understand weather conditions and forecasts.
• Keep abreast of new information and technology that would enhance the presentation of weather information, graphics and animation.
• Must be proficient in social media and digital communications.
• Ability to work any shift is required.

• Experience as a meteorologist is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, or a related field required.
• Certified Broadcast Meteorologist credential from the AMS preferred.
• Significant hands‑on experience with weather computers.

• Good eyesight and hearing.
• Ability to walk up stairs and sometimes long distances.
• Ability to lift weights up to 10 pounds.
• Ability to sit for a long period of time.
• Ability to handle often stressful situations under deadline.
• Good manual and overall physical dexterity.
