Responsibilities
Perform routine phlebotomy procedures. Assist in clerical duties, processing of outpatient specimens, restocking, cleaning work areas, inventory assessment and performing testing procedures described as "waived" testing and moderately complex testing.
Qualifications- High School Diploma/GED, or highest level of education. Preferred Bachelors or Associates of Science.
- Reading and numerical competency. Training and certification from accredited phlebotomy program preferred.
- One year of recent phlebotomy experience or completion of MLT/Phlebotomy program.
- ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologist) certified as Phlebotomist desired, but not required.
- Ability to learn computer system and computerized lab equipment. Demonstrates knowledge and exhibits skills in obtaining laboratory specimens from all age groups. Must have moderate complex testing after initial training and assessment at six‑months. Expectation that you can perform both waived and moderate complexity testing using Point of Care devices during code blue/trauma, or as needed in other areas. Must work well with people and maintain confidentiality.
