Texoma Medical Center is a 414-bed acute care facility located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. More than 3,500 employees, 400 multi-specialty physicians, and over 100 volunteers have helped to support the hospital in delivering quality, patient-focused care to the Texoma region for over 50 years.
Medical Assistant (Anna Texas) is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties, which include assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviewing patients, measuring vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), venipuncture, and procedures as directed by the physician within the scope of practice in the State.
Documentation is recorded in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with IPM guideline.
Prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients. Assists in covering the front desk as required.
Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics that align with UHS acute care facilities. It also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 12 markets across six states and the District of Columbia.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant certificate required or must obtain certification within six (6) months of employment
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or one year experience as a Medical Assistant
- Familiarity with medical terminology required
- Experience with patient check-in and check-out process (according to clinic protocol)
- General medical office procedures
- Understand end of day cash balancing and charge reconciliation process (according to clinic protocol)
- Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
