PositionSummary
Under the supervision and guidance of an occupational therapist, the Occupational Therapy Assistant carries out each assigned patient’s established plan of care utilizing therapeutic modalities and techniques. The assistant completes documentation related to care provided and communicates with the supervising therapist and team members on a timely basis.
Responsibilities• Implement and evaluate therapeutic interventions as directed by the occupational therapist.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care.
• Maintain professional knowledge of therapeutic techniques and best practices.
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Licensed by the State of Texas or eligible to sit for the exam. Holds a BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification and completed all required orientation training before clinical work.
- General knowledge of therapy skills and competencies; strong written, verbal, and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Basic computer skills and ability to commute between facilities in a timely manner.
