Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
Manage, direct, and coordinate activities within the Public Works Department, specifically the sanitation, street, and fleet divisions. Prepare reports and help organize, coordinate, and administer business and technical functions within the department. Develop and update standard operating procedures, set departmental policies, and plan and administer the activities of the divisions.

- Extensive knowledge of State and Federal rules applicable to public works.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations governing the work area.
- Understanding of administration principles related to maintenance and operations of Sanitation, Streets, and Fleet.
- Familiarity with City and Department policies, procedures, and practices.
- Knowledge of budgeting, fiscal management, and project management principles.
- Ability to utilize strategic planning principles.
- Knowledge of public works and engineering construction inspection practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
- Competence in routine construction inspection and safety standards.
- Ability to maintain consistent attendance and respond after hours as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the City’s auto liability insurer.
- Ten years of experience in Public Works in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Five years of experience in sanitation, streets, and/or fleet services.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, public administration, or related field preferred.
- Frequent walking, driving, or sitting.
- Ability to lift objects from 1-50 pounds regularly, and up to 80 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to operate knobs, levers, and other controls frequently.
- Occasional squatting, kneeling, and crawling.
- Frequent bending, climbing, and reaching.
- Ability to work in inclement weather, after hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
