SummaryDescription:
Provide assistance to production crews in mechanical and machine operations, building and facilities and associated equipment.
Essential Functions:- Under general supervision and with minimal technical guidance, keep plant machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair
- Respond in timely manner to work orders and management requests
- Install, maintain and repair production or processing equipment
- Fabricate machine guards, install or repair conveyers and replace motors as needed
- Tear down or replace pumps
- Maintain fluid collection or distribution equipment or repair electro‑mechanical equipment
- Perform advance troubleshooting including PLC/robotics
- Examine a variety of machines to diagnose and repair equipment
- Overhaul machines and equipment, including scraping of ways and bearings and fitting parts
- Dismantle machines, replace defective parts, reassemble machines and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation
- Provide work training to less experienced staff as needed
- Perform work at maintenance level II as needed
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies regarding safety
- Work around a wide variety of equipment, chemicals and machinery; must be aware of safety hazards at all times
- Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned
Required:
High school degree or GED is required; vocational tech training in mechanical related field is preferred. Must have three (3) years of tech training (or equivalent experience) and at least two (2) year of related mechanical experience in hydraulics, electronics repair, and related mechanical applications.
Other Position Demands or Requirements:Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, layout plans and machine instructions. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions with accuracy.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:Exposed to heat, dust, fumes and noise of foundry floor. Must be able to bend, reach, lift and move up to 50 lbs. without assistance. Must wear protective safety equipment including respirators, SCBAs, gloves and other protective clothing. Has exposure to chemicals. Must be able to climb up on ladders, equipment and roofs as necessary. Occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures.
