Position: INFECTION PREVENTION COORDINATOR (RN)

Responsibilities

Texoma Medical Center, a 414‑bed acute care facility has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. The main campus is located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. We offer major specialty services including open‑heart surgery and neurosurgery. Advanced resources such as certified trauma care support our role as a regional specialty center.

The basic purpose of nursing is to provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Nursing will provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. Patient‑centered care provides the foundation for all nursing care. We demonstrate service excellence standards at all times.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Requirements:

  • Per licensure requirement or equivalent experience; BSN preferred.
  • 3 years experience in an acute care hospital or in epidemiology.
  • RN or other clinical license required; obtain CIC within 3 years.
  • Possess initiative to establish a course of action for self and others to accomplish goals. In a collaborative approach, implements the plan and associated follow‑up to ensure success.
  • Experience working in microbiology, epidemiology, process improvement, and/or clinical education desirable.
  • Analytical skills necessary to gather and analyze data, prepare reports, and recommend appropriate action plans.
  • Intermediate level skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and other computer programs desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
