• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service.
• Assist customers by making product suggestions.
• Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques (phone, intercom, one-on-one).
• Answer and respond to incoming calls; resolve customer complaints and report to Store Director as needed.

• Responsible for total store operations in the absence of the Store Director.
• Plan GM daily operations and monitor production processes for profitability.
• Build GM/HBC displays, rotate stock, and discard outdated or spoiled products.
• Ensure cleanliness of work area and department.
• Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays.
• Follow and maintain department standards and requirements.

• Monitor employee productivity and evaluate overall performance.
• Schedule employees to ensure adequate coverage and service levels.
• Possess specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees (including opening and closing duties).
• Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees.
• Train employees in store policies, sales, and record-keeping procedures.
• Identify and train employees with high potential for advancement.
• Initiate personnel actions such as interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions.

• Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 6 months.
• Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness.
• Maintain inventory levels according to division directives; stock and rotate products.
• Order general merchandise products and maintain inventory levels per division guidelines.
• Supervise reclamation processing and maintain orderly backroom and GM/HBC department conditions.
• Control shrink and costs.

• Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department.
• Comply with company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work area and equipment.
• Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations.

• Operate related equipment: pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, and safety cutters.

• Perform all job duties safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity.
• Other necessary and required duties.
