We are seeking a driver who above all puts safety first to act as support to Gatik’s autonomous trucks. You will be tasked with maintaining separation between the Gatik AV and third party vehicles during the entire testing process. Given your crucial role, you will be expected to uphold utmost professionalism, keen attention to detail and exercise sound judgment in a dynamic environment.

This role is onsite at our Denison, TX office!

• Operate a chase vehicle during autonomous testing
• Keep other vehicles a safe distance from the Gatik AV by providing a buffer zone behind the truck
• Be aware of surrounding traffic at all time
• Ensure the safety of the vehicle and the travelling public throughout the entire testing process.
• Be in radio communication with the Gatik AV to provide updates on traffic using strict communication protocols
• Be diligent and alert to all potential hazards which may arise

• Minimum 3 years driving experience with a box truck
• Clean driving record, background check and drug screen
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely over the radio
• Ability to work non-standard hours to cover rotating shifts.

• Prior experience in autonomous driving, testing or similar field
• Prior experience using 2-way radios
• Radiotelephone Operators Certificate would be an asset
• Positive attitude and passion for autonomous vehicles is a plus
