Dental Hygienist

Overview

Dental Hygienist position at Harbor Health Services, Inc., located at Ellen Jones Community Dental Center in Dennis, MA. Flexible schedule, part time or full time (20‑40 hrs weekly).

Base pay range: $38.03/hr – $57.07/hr sign‑on bonus: $2,500 (half at hire, remainder at 90 days, existing employees not eligible).

Dental Hygienist provides preventive, educational, and therapeutic services supporting total oral health. Duties include assisting the dentist, reviewing medical history, performing clinical procedures, and patient education.

• Takes and records vital signs; reviews medical chart for medications and allergies.
• Performs oral exams, oral cancer screening, periodontal charting, evaluates occlusion and parafunctional habits, screens for orthodontic, periodontal, and charts restorations.
• Instructs patients on proper dental care, diet, brushing, flossing, adjunct tools, fluoride rinses; records instructions in medical record.
• Performs authorized procedures such as sub‑gingival and supra‑gingival scaling, root planning and curettage, fluoride varnish, topical anesthetics; records each treatment accurately.
• May perform dental assisting duties as needed: infection control, triage of emergency patients, setup and breakdown of operations before and after patients.

• BA preferred; current MA Dental Hygiene license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
• 1 year of professional clinical experience; 3 years preferred (may substitute 2 years Dental Assisting experience for 1 year).
