Posting Details (Default Section) Posting Number 9002042 Title Director of Small Business Development Center Position Type Full-Time Department SBDC Job Summary The Director of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides strategic, operational, and administrative leadership for the Center in alignment with North Central Texas College (NCTC) and the North Texas SBDC Network. This role manages program operations, ensures grant and compliance requirements are met, oversees business advising services, and creates strong community partnerships to support small business success throughout the service region.
The Director ensures the effective delivery of advising, training, and outreach services that contribute to economic growth and development.
Responsibilities and Duties :
Leadership & Program Administration- Provides overall leadership and direction for SBDC operations to meet federal, state, and institutional goals.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates programs and services; recommends improvements to enhance quality, impact, and efficiency.
- Ensures full compliance with the strategic objectives and reporting requirements of NCTC and the North Texas SBDC Network.
- Oversees multiple budgets including Federal, State, Local, and Program Income.
- Prepares, monitors, and reconciles budgets; approves expenditures and ensures compliance with fiscal requirements.
- Coordinates all required reporting, documentation, and performance metrics for grant-funded programs.
- Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates SBDC staff.
- Assigns work, monitors advising activities, and ensures accuracy of documentation in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database.
- Provides ongoing coaching, support, and professional development opportunities for business advisors.
- Oversees loan packaging preparation and review, including SBA lending products.
- Provides guidance for client advising in areas such as business planning, financial analysis, marketing, operations, and business recovery.
- Reviews advising narratives and documentation to ensure service quality and compliance.
- Represents the SBDC and NCTC at community events, business meetings, and stakeholder gatherings.
- Builds and maintains strong partnerships with chambers, economic development corporations, lenders, and business leaders.
- Develops outreach strategies to promote SBDC services and expand the Center’s visibility and community impact.
- Plans, schedules, coordinates, and evaluates training programs and workshops for small business owners.
- Secures presenters and subject‑matter experts for both in‑person and virtual events.
- Tracks participation, outcomes, and program impact for required reporting.
- Compiles economic impact data, narratives, client success stories, stakeholder contacts, and performance metrics for quarterly and annual reports.
- Monitors financial and program data for accuracy; submits necessary budget changes.
- Ensures accurate, timely reporting in accordance with SBDC Network standards.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Quick Books, CRM systems, and relevant industry software.
- Ability to deliver individualized advising on business planning, financial management, marketing, and operations.
- Minimum three years of management experience (five preferred).
